Cook's Jewelry has been owned and operated by the Cook Family for almost 70 years, beginning in 1951 and spanning three generations. The jewelry store was founded in Tipton, Iowa by Louie and Virginia Cook. It proudly stood as an iconic landmark in Tipton for over five decades until their retirement. Upon learning the trade from his parents, and attending Gem City College to study watchmaking and goldsmithing, their son Steve Cook opened a second store in downtown Iowa City in 1984. After quickly outgrowing this location, Steve moved the business to Eastdale Plaza on the east side of Iowa City, where Cook’s Jewelry has now been for over 30 years. Steve was joined by his wife Cindy and completed several store expansions in the 1990's. Their son Ben and his wife Kaitlyn have now taken over ownership of the store and are the third generation of the Cook family to proudly continue on in the family business. Ben started working for his parents in 2005, and after apprenticing them and learning the trade for many years, he will now be leading the Cook’s team. Cook's Jewelry has a reputable history of serving eastern Iowa with their fine jewelry products, custom jewelry, time pieces, and impeccable service. We take great pride in being the premier jeweler of eastside Iowa City, and our philosophy has always been to put the customer first by providing the highest quality products with the highest standard of service and care.
